My Prostate Problems Time-Line

Let me start out by giving my viewers the background of my initial signs of a prostate issue:

September, 2007:

I started having some very minor urination problems during this month. They were barely noticeable but more night-time bathroom trips & slight burning during urination where the main signs. I started drinking more water & thought this would clear things up.

October, 2007:

My symptoms started getting worse. I had more night-time bathroom trips & burning during urination. I also started feeling like I was setting on a golf ball at times. I again started drinking extra water daily. I felt better for a short period of time but still symptoms where never gone.

November, 2007:

By this time, things were gradually getting worse. I was only drinking water & green tea at this time. I had no other type fluids going into my body. My symptoms were just getting worse by the day.

December, 2007:

This was getting near holiday time & I wasn't feeling well at all. My burning & bathroom trips were more frequent. I then had additional symptoms of feeling tired & depressed. I wasn't eating regularly & my appetite was going south. I hadn't lost much weight at this time but was showing signs of trouble eating.

January, 2008:

I started feeling very down & depressed. I couldn't do any setting for longer than 10-15 minutes at a time.I would break out into a sweat if I set too long & would feel like I was going to faint. I still was in denial I guess but tried to keep going. I was not very active at all even though I had been active all my life. I was very depressed but still wasn't getting any help because of my denial about having a prostate issue. Men are sometimes too manly to admit there's something going on down there, right? I was starting to think the worse & I was dead-set I had prostate cancer.

February, 2008:

I was getting much worse by this time & was now suffering from fever & chills to go along with all the other symptoms. I then decided it was time to finally try to figure pout what was going on with me. My wife had really fussed at me all the time to go to the doctor. However, I'm a man & we don't admit there's a problem there like I said before.

March, 2008:

After researching on the net for days I decided to make a phone call to a local urologist office. I went to my first appointment on March 28th. I provided a urine sample to go along with blood work. The doctor then asked to do a Digital Rectal Exam(DRE) to check my prostate manually. The word "digital" here doesn't mean by a machine but by the doctor's finger. I knew this wasn't going to be any fun. Upon examination, the doctor stated that my prostate was "very enlarged" & felt soft to the touch. This normally shows a prostate infection & therefore he suggested treatment with antibiotics.

I was given a 3-week course of Doxycycline to treat the supposed infection. BTW, the PSA(Prostate Specific Antigen) test came back with a reading of 0.9 which is below normal for any prostate cancer. Normal is considered between 1.0-4.0 on a scale. Anything above 4.0 is considered abnormal but higher numbers are more serious like 10.0 or higher. That relieved me somewhat for a short time. I will cover this test in detailed later as well.

April, 2008:

After going through the 3-week treatment with antibiotics I did feel quite a bit better. However, about a week after the treatment stopped I started feeling bad again. I was getting back the frequent urination at night & burning during urination along with the golf ball feeling from the testicle area. About 2 weeks later I was right back where I was before with pain from sitting & depressed. I then said I'm gonna study on the net even more about this situation. Doctors like to throw antibiotics into our bodies for all sorts of health problems. Once studying more I was thinking that this wasn't going to make me better or at least allow me to manage my prostate problems.

May, 2008:

I decided I would give the urologist office another call for another appointment. However, I got so sick that I couldn't wait for that appointment & had to make a trip to the ER. I was the sickest I had been now with nausea, pain, sweats,& very depressed. The ER doctor stated that I had been on the wrong antibiotics & changed it to an0ther in the same class. This was also a 3-week course treatment. I didn't keep my followup appointment with the urologist since I was back on antibiotics.

June, 2008:

Once the most recent course of antibiotics was finished I again started feeling bad. This was only about 4-5 days after the treatment stopped. I then started researching deeply on the net about my prostate problems. What I found out was that this was the typical protocol by doctor's for prostate infections. They rarely worked & some people even suffered worse problems from antibiotics. I still decided to call the urologist office for an appointment. I went to this appointment on June 26. I again was diagnosed with an infection & that more antibiotics was needed. I SAID NO THANKS THIS TIME! I told the doctor I was considering alternative treatments now instead of prescription meds.

July, 2008:

After extensive research I decided that I would give herbals a try to see if that route helped. I visited many sites researching the best herbs & herbal brand name products to possibly try. I mean I spent hours daily trying to make sure that I didn't throw money away to these so called scammers. There are tons of products & formulas to treat not only prostate disorders but many health-related problems. I didn't want to go with the wrong products. I found quite a few single supplements/herbs that I started using & I will be going in detail on these in future writings. To be short at this time I started taking about 16 combination herbs & supplements in the month of July.

August-October, 2008:

During these 3 months I kept at taking the herbs & supplements on a regular basis. Boy, I was feeling like a new person compared to the feeling while on antibiotics. I still am only drinking filtered water & green tea all during this time & NOTHING else period. Another thing I need to mention is my DIET. This is also a big factor in managing prostate related illnesses.

I too will be going over my detailed diet in the future. One other thing is LIFE-STYLE change. I will cover all these things at a later time but right now I wanna just give the rundown of my prostate problems & timing. By the end of October I was actually nearly 100% symptom free. I felt like I had my life back again & wasn't worried now about prostate cancer.

November, 2008-present:

Now, I appear to have my life completely back with barely noticeable symptoms. Most of the time I don't even have any symptoms at all. Prostate infections are divided into several categories & I will cover this in future articles. All prostate infections are called "prostatitis" but here is where they get divided into types. These will be covered later. I will provide links to many of the same sites I used & will provide as much help for people that are experiencing the same awful medical problems I went through.

It's not something that any man wants to experience but maintaining prostate performance & health will go a long way towards avoiding issues in the future & also lead the ones suffering back to good health. Looking forward to posting more articles in the near future & I will be back soon with more information. Thanks for reading & have a great day!

  1. Tony, thank you for your log and info. I have been having some issues for a month, I have been to the doctor and had a DRE, he said prostatitis, waiting on results of PSA. I went initially to my doctor and he complained of burning in the lowe abdomen area, then burning when passing stool. He said maybe virus or mild colitis (since my father had it). So then it continued till the point that my bladder felt infected, running to toilet, burning so I went to emergency and they said oh, maybe kidney stones, found a trace of blood in the urine, ordered CT scan and it was clear, sent me home, said maybe bowel infection. Problems contiuned, dull pain or burning feeling in pelvic area, slight back pain and somtimes low stream of urine. Went to a new doctor who was much more detailed and he did the DRE and found the swelling and it burned when he pressed on the prostate. I have to go back to him tommorow. I appreciate your log as I have been suffering from anxiety and depression and feel weak and tired a lot, don't want to go outside, do anything and work seems so hard, I also feel generally unwell. I'm curious as to whether the depression is caused by how you feel because of the illness or the illness itself (something chemical).

Thanks again, look forward to your solutions.

    Tony (I'm Tony too)

  2. Hello Tony! That sounds odd. I feel like I'm talking to myself. Thanks for visiting my site. I understand how you feel right now. Prostate problems are hard to handle.

To make a longer post short let me say this now. Your depression is more than likely a combination of worrying about what's wrong & feeling sick all the time.

I went through exactly what you're experiencing. I was terrified of what was facing me. I felt like the doctors were just wanting me to live with it. That's what a lot of them tell their patients including me.

I was so depressed because I was getting sicker & sicker by the day & the doctors didn't seem to wanna do anything but prescribe me antibiotics. I will be covering the methods of treatment very soon.

Are you married? My wife along with God was the only thing that got me through my worst times. If you're not married then find a friend or family member for support.

There are some alternative treatments for depression that I'll be covering as well. They helped me with depression but it was tough anyway.

Please stay tuned to my site.I will be posting new content very soon. If you have any more questions then please feel free to ask. Thanks for coming to my site!

  3. Thanks Tony.

Yes, I'm happily married, have two kids - oh! and I go fishing too! So now you will feel even more like you are talking to yourself. She has been a great support, I think I would not get out of bed at all if she didn't support me. I am also a religious person who has a lot of faith in the Creator and I believe he is the one who heals, first and foremost. Glad you give me some insight on the depression, I tend to feel somewhat better mentally and emotionally as the day goes on, the mornings and afternoons are bad, I wake up unrested, heart pounding and nervous, I have no appetite, might eat more at night. I have my appoitment in the morning, I will let you know how that goes (results/what doc says). Just reading your reply makes me feel a tad better, thanks.

    Tony

  4. Thanks again for posting. I'm certainly a big-time fisherman as well. I'm glad you have a wife for support.

I certainly wouldn't have made it through it if not for God & my wife. I know that God helped me because I was so depressed at one point.

I even asked God to take me on out of this world I was so miserable. He said it wasn't my time & gave me the strength to get through it all.

Me too suffered more of the mornings compared to the rest of the day. I lost almost 40 lbs. in about 4 months. My appetite was null & I felt like I was gonna die. I had to get up 4-6 times a night to go to the bathroom.

Prostatitis is hard to get a hold of really. Most doctors don't even know how to treat it. There's not enough known about this disease still in order for a proper treatment option(s).

I got to where I'm at today "on my own" to be honest. I researched extensively on the net & actually overwhelmed myself with too much information. However, looking back on it paid off for me in the long haul.

I hope you're going to a reputable urologist office. This is so important for proper diagnosis. Don't go to a regular family physician for this disease. I assume you're seeing a urologist.

Let me suggest one thing when going to your appt. tomorrow. If they offer you the antibiotic "Cipro" please don't take this prescription med.

This antibiotic has been linked to numerous "permanent" problems. I've read many stories in which people were losing their feelings in their arms, legs, hands,& feet.

Even reports of people not being able to walk or use their hands again. This med can cause nerve & muscle damage. It really depends on how long you take it but it varies from person to person.

If it's taken for 6+ months then you a high risk of permanent damage. I've even seen some stories where it's been taken in as little as two weeks with permanent damage. Please avoid this medication at all causes.

There are other milder antibiotics that can treat prostatitis that I'd suggest. However, prescription meds isn't what got me better. It's been alternative treatments that I will be detailing very soon.

Please go ahead & register/signup for my site. There's also a "Follow" link located at the left sidebar. This way you don't have be listed as anonymous anymore. Thanks for viewing & let me know what the doctor has to say. Have a great day! Thanks!

  5. Went to my doctor today, all results good, blood, urine, stool, PSA 1.2 - he said a little high for my age (29) but not unusual for prostatitis cases. He prescribed

Floxin (seems to be cipro family) - any advice? 400mg

Ativan (benzodiazepine) for stress - not interested in this, I can manage that.

Symptoms have went down last 36hrs, this happened a week ago too but then they came back full force, still feel cloudy and tired.

Not sure what to do about the floxin.

    Thanks again,

  6. Hello again Tony! Good to see your PSA at 1.2 which is only slightly high for your age. Mine was 0.9 at the time of testing at age 37. Floxin is in the same class as Cipro but hasn't been linked to problems that Cipro is know to cause.

I'd suggest you go alternative for managing your stress. I certainly went that way with managing mine. I took an herb that I'll be covering in a soon to be published article.

Your flare-ups are very common for prostatitis. May I ask how long you've been suffering? I experienced several flare-ups in about 1 1/2 years. It takes a lot of discipline & self-help to get better. Don't depend on the doctors to do too much.

What course is this for antibiotics? Have you been tried on several types or several different courses? Don't let this continue because most of the time this is just a band-aid type treatment. Once you stop taking them symptoms get worse or come back.

If you haven't been taking course after course of antibiotics then it's OK to try out Floxin. If you've already taken it before for prostatitis then don't do it again.

I sure believe my coming articles & information will help you out Tony. Especially if the antibiotics aren't working. BTW, what type prostatitis was you diagnosed with? I had "chronic prostatitis" with no signs of bacteria but I was still given antibiotics a few times.

Thanks again for viewing my site! Stay tuned for more helpful information to come. BTW, how did you find out about my site? Search Engine? Other website? Glad you're feeling some better! Have a great day!

  7. Thanks again Tony.

I have not been diagnosed with any specific prostatitis - just general. I haven't seen a Urologist as I was just trying to find a good doctor (to see what was wrong with me), My doctor was very thorough and did a DRE and felt the swelling of the Prostate, I in turn felt a searing burn when he pushed on it! So he ordered tons of tests including PSA, told me to come back in two weeks or earlier if I feel worse. So

I went back for my scheduled appointment yesterday and he said 'I'm healthy as a horse' and all results were good, he said, the general urine test rarely ever shows bacteria even though it is there.

I have been suffering for only a month, actually, it started like this

    1. Lower abdominal pain whilst out of the country, one morning and indigestion, took ibuprofen and then ok
    2. one week later, back home, starting feeling abdominal pain, it grew, lasted and I was having loose stools and some burning lower abdominal
    3. Then, it started (a week later) to mainly be in the bladder, ended up in emergency, found urinating burned or was warm and I wanted to go often, so they did a CT scan and it was clear, blood trace in urine though (not in recent urine test)
    4. Bowel issues came to normal now, no issues but for last three weeks, dullness, fatigue, pelvic dull pain, back pain, up and down, on and off, sometimes hesitancy urinating, sometimes low flow, sometimes warm, sometimes ok, sometimes feel slight twinge in anus, sometimes in penis etc. up and down - main thing is the DRE was done and swelling was found, then PSA done.

Now, I have never taken any medication for Prostatitis, been drinking cranberry juice (organic) and a herb mix called 'Prostate Perform' (you can google it, as I don't want to promote it as I don't know much about it), took it for 4 days, symptoms seemed to go down but that could be coincidence as Prostatitis seems to go up/down. Doctor said, bad news is, it won't always clear it and sometimes it might kill must bacteria but not all and it might come back, months or years later even. I didn't want to seem like a know all, so I listened but I did say "Is it bacterial or non-bacterial" (as I read a lot on google books about Prostatitis, down to chinese medicine treatments even) so he said "It is always bacteria that causes it" so I said "So stress or pressure isn't a factor" He said "No"

I didn't prolong the discussion as I didn't want to argue with him (seem rude) but that was contrary to the types of Prostatitis I read about. I thought he may refer to a Urologist and they would take the separate urine samples between prostatic message to try and figure out a particular fungus or bacteria.

So I think I will try it out (antibiotic), not looking forward to that as I have a weak stomach and may get acid issues. My symptoms are not as bad as the ones you had, right now, I just feel a slight warmth in the pelvic area, some light back pain and I feel a bit cloudy and duh!
If it isn't effective or recurs, I will look to a Urologist and of course, I will be looking at your blog and keeping in touch.

One interesting thing, my issues started as bowel/digestion and the prostatitis came after, I'm very suspicious of a Yeast Infection (as I read in books that it is indeed possible to have a colon related issue that can migrate to the prostate, which is a warm and comfortable place for bacteria) but without proper testing to see if it is bacterial or non-bacterial, can't tell.
Maybe I'm digging to deep, other than that, hope to get some good bass/walleye fishing in during the next while.

Thanks again, look forward to watching your blog

  8. Thanks again Tony for your updated information. Since I'm short on time right now I'll post a brief comment.

From the description of your symptoms then it does sound like you have "prostatitis". The problem is what type? That's CRITICAL in determining the proper treatment.

Also, I think you may end up having to see a urologist to be honest. You're in the early stages of some prostate problem it seems for sure. It's hard enough for a urologist to diagnose a problem much less a regular family physician.

I'd go ahead take the Floxin & see how you react to that one. How long of a course is this scheduled? I'd also suggest you take a "probiotic" of some type to go with your antibiotic.

This will keep the intestines in good working order because antibiotics kill all bacteria in the stomach including the good bacteria.

You can also take something called "Acidophilus". This is similar to a probiotic & comes in various brands. Both of these can be gotten from any pharmacy without a prescription.

Thanks for viewing & commenting again. Please feel free to ask any more questions. I'll be posting my next article about herbs & supplements. This should be done hopefully by weeks end. Have a great day & hope you continue to feel better.

  9. Hey again Tony! I hope things are better for you. I haven't heard from you recently. I hope the Floxin is helping you out.

If for some reason you're not feeling better check out some of the product ads & links I've now placed on my site. These links will take you to some of the very products I use/have used for gaining my health back.

I have more detailed information in my latest article posted at the end of it. Let me know how you feel. Thanks!

  10. Hi Tony,

Hope you're well. On the Floxin. Been 2 weeks. I find when I take it, it helps to reduce pelvic pain to minor to no discomfort. However, the fatigue is flaring up and down and seems to be agitated by cardio excercise. I still feel like little twinges, slight pains, slight discomfort but better than before, I have a feeling it is not going to cure it, I think the antibiotic is just masking the inflammation. Kinda weird but not as bad as before. Symptons have lessend (in types) but are still there in a minor form, intersting to see what happens, I have two weeks left.

Thats the update, didn't want to post too often.

    Thanks

    Tony

  11. Hi Tony, back again.

Tonight is my last floxin pill, full month corse finished.

I mentioned my symptoms above (most importantly pelvic discomfort and wicked fatigue), since taking the antibiotics, the symptoms have become reduced with pelvic discomfort only appearing towards the 10-11 hr period between pills (twice a day), faituge is lessend (can't work out much increases fatigue) and burning urine, poor flow reduced.

Bottom line - it seems as if the antibiotics mask the symptoms or wipe parts of the bacteria out but I think once I stop, it will come back. I will be off antibiotics for 4 days before seeing my doctor on Wed. so I might get an idea of how things are. I expect he will prescribe another course (since I will tell him better but not cured).

I think I will then turn to the herbal route and hold off on the $140 prescription for now. I appreciate your detailed post, I already have a product called Prostate Perform which has a selection of some of the items mentioned, I'm big on organic honey anyway and will look at the filtered water.

That's it for now, keep up your important efforts to educate on the issue, appreciate the blog.

PS - the formatting issues you have on some posts (different font sizes/styles/small fonts/menu options shrinking) - you can resolve that by copying and pasting to 'notepad' then copy and paste freshly back to the blog. The diffenrent html extracts used will play havoc with your CSS in the blog. Just a tip (I'm a web developer).

    Take it easy

    Tony

  12. Hey Tony! Good to hear from you again. Please don't let the docs continue giving you antibiotics. Please consider some of the very products I have listed from this site. I know you have your own but these I still take today for the most part.

The antibiotics are just prolonging your problems really. They band-aid the real issue by throwing antibiotics into patients. Remember, to eat a proper diet like I have listed & exercise regularly to gain your health back.

On the formatting side, I only have 2 particular articles that show up running together. I have messed with both the fonts & texting options but can't get them to look right.

I have done as you said & copied these couple original articles into Notepad & then paste them back to Blogger but it doesn't work. Blogger seems to be picky about making changes & I have problems from time to time with posts. Any idea as to why the copying & pasting back to my blog isn't working with these 2 articles?

I'm removing the entire content of these articles after copying them to Notepad. I then proceed to pasting the same content back to my blog posts but they still run together looking all jumbled up. Any suggestions? Thanks again for coming to the site & feel free to post anytime.

  14. You're welcome! There's a light at the end of that tunnel guys! It's a battle but you can overcome prostatitis. Making changes to my lifestyle has been my #1 factor is getting my health back.

Don't allow the docs to tell you that you have to live with it because you don't. It's not easy to battle through prostatitis of any kind. Just set your mind to it & you can get back to better health. Use the topics I have blogged here to help you out.

Good Luck to everyone & feel free to ask questions anytime. Thanks!

  15. Man this blog eases my mind about the issues that i am having. I'm a 29 year old married man with one 4 year old daughter and another on the way.

I'll tell you my story, it started in 2/2010 the first sign I had was slight pressure in pelvis/lower abdomen then a slight burning after urination with sore testicles and Penis discomfort, just general feeling of not feeling well. This went on for about a week, then i started coming down with a sinus infection so i went to the doctor and while i was there i mentioned the urinary and pressure issues i was having. The doc said it was probably prostatitis and then did a exam and said prostate felt good but it was inflamed, perscribed doxycycline for 15 days with a refill for another 15 days if it hadn't fully went away doc said it would take care of sinus issue too and it did. Well i'm not big on taking meds for this long but the pressure/urinary problems were really starting to way on my mind making me anxious/depressed so i figured i would take the course and see what happened.(By the way this prostate exam i had was slightly uncomfortable but didn't hurt)well I took the doxy for 15 days with symptoms going and coming some good days and some bad. My wife works in surgery at a local hospital here and was working with a uroligist she knows so she was talking to him about my problem and he said that doxy usually works but if it didnt get better in a few more days then make an appointment to see him. Well a few days came and went with the problem coming and going so i figured i would bite the bullet and make an appointment to see him. My appointment was on 3/25/10, got there sat down and talked to the doc and explained everything to him, he said that i was getting correct treatment he thought the doxy just wasnt quite getting rid of it all, don't get me wrong I feel alot better but still have a few symptoms. Uroligist did a total exam saving the rectal exam for last, well this time when the doc touched my prostate it felt like fire going thru my body it really hurt. He said it was inflammed and I definetly had prostatitis to finish out the cycle of doxy and then if it still hadn't completly went away to call his office and he would call me in something else. Did it hurt like that when anyone else had the exam???? I'm just ready to feel normal again, think i will try some of the products that you talk about. Oh and to add the day after my last exam the pressure in my pelvis seemed to get worse, do you think it inflammed it more getting examed? Thanks again for the blog man!!!

Really makes you feel better knowing your not the only one going thru this horrible problem

  16. Todd:

Please don't allow the docs to keep prescribing you antibiotics. I too went through 2 separate courses of antibiotics. It always came back a few days later. It's a band-aid approach for a bigger problem.

The best route is to go the natural/organic way for treatment IMO. While prescription meds do work for some cases most of the time these meds only temporarily help & have side effects as well.

Try some of the products I have from my blog. I still take quite a few of them today. You will not need them all but there are many that will certainly help you.

Keep in mind too that how important diet & exercise plays in getting your health back. I have a lot of information about this from my blog. Please feel free to ask me about any of the products as well. You can just reply back here for more questions. I'm here to help!

And, yeah my prostate exams were pretty painful. I felt like I was gonna jump through the docs office every time. BTW, have you had a PSA test done? This is a typical blood test done to check for initial signs of prostate cancer. Let me know! Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Thanks Tony,

Nope he hasn't done a PSA yet, he said he could tell by the rectal exam, he was 100% positive it wasn't prostate cancer.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Well, that's good news! I was scared to death that I had prostate cancer. This disease is awful. You have to set your mind that you're not gonna let it beat you. It's not easy but you can do it. Feel free to ask me any questions. Thanks!

  19. hi Tony
I am experiencing some prostate issues. Urologist did DRE and PSA comes 0.6. 3 course of CIPRO and put me on alpha blocker . Ultra sound shows prostae is not enlarged but flow test that I did UROLOGIS said he need to do CISTOSCOPE to see inside since my symptom is there. I feel burning sensation in rectum area as if urine touches it rediates. I am also taking swa palmetto from last 2 months. I find difficult to sit. After DRE he did say I have got inflamation in left lob. What do think ?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Hey! Please don't take any more of the Cipro. It's bad news for possible long-term damage. Google the problems with Cipro & you'll see why. How did the DRE lead to the doc to say you had inflammation but the US stated otherwise?

Do you have any pain located anywhere else in the pelvic region? Do you have any back pain or discomfort in the thigh area? Do you have anal fissures? That's sharp stabbing pains coming from just inside the rectum. Do you have low libido? Do you suffer worse during times of stress?

I ask this because you could have CPPS instead of it being a problem directly related to the prostate. If you have any of these other symptoms please go here for more help: http://pelvicpainhelp.com/

    ReplyDelete
  21. Hi Tony I looked at the sysmtom on the website http://pelvicpainhelp.com/ . yes I have most of the symtoms that is mentioned. On the first Ultra sound they found central echogenic lesion and reffered me to Urologist and he looked at the report and says it is normal and volume was 24cc. After doing the DRE he said left lob is a bit larger than right hand one but non-tender. Abdominal examination is satisfactory. On the second USS test volume came 16CC blood PSA 0.6 and could not find anything with urine culture but flow test was not good as it stooped and started . But normally I do not feel stop and start but with full bladder I felt it during the test as I was holding it for while becuse of USS. Now I need to go throgh the cistoscope . I do feel discofort as if sth sharp is there when I sit . it radiates in to different part some ites when I nned to pass urine .I am on alpha blocker and saw palmetto. Do you have any idea about any natural treatment . Thanks

    ReplyDelete
  22. If you do have CPPS there are no natural treatments. This involves self help along with a lot of support. I'm not saying that's what you have but it very well could be the case. CPPS doesn't involve any prescription meds.

It basically involves you helping yourself with relaxation techniques & trigger point therapy. A lot of people don't realize what stress plays on the body. May I ask how old you are? If you're past 30 or so then you could have CPPS. I say this because it's the long-term stress & problems with everyday life that can lead to CPPS.

If you're not having any success with current doctor treatments then you may wanna consider this as your real problem. Thanks!

  24. Please keep in mind that CPPS WILL NOT involve any type of treatments listed from my blog. It's a totally different type of condition. It just involves the prostate but actually affects the entire pelvic region.

No herb or supplement will help either. You need to Google paradoxical relaxation & trigger point therapy for more information. Paradoxical relaxation will certainly help in dealing with stress. You can also Google the Stanford Protocol as well. That's where the pelvic pain help site link I gave you is originated from.

I will advise you to watch what the docs wanna do. They don't know enough about the prostate. I say this for nearly all urologists. They can actually make things worse for patients. I advise against the cystoscopy. I didn't have one because I turned it down. I turned down a lot of things coming from my urologists.

To be honest, I think I had a combination of chronic prostatitis & CPPS. The stress was the player in the CPPS while the infection was triggered by the wrong lifestyle. A lifestyle of worries & improper diet. Thanks!

  25. Hi Tony thanks for your help. As you have mentioned you had combination of prostatitis & CPPS How do they diagnose without performing the cistoscope. I do not want go through this proceduture but my symptoms seems that I have chronic prostatitis but urologist says since I still have the symtoms and flow test was not good on that day it is better to do the cistoscope, but If my symptoms improve I can cancel this. I know after this proceduture things may go worse. Now my problem is they have not diagnosed me yet though they are treating me for prostatitis. Blood and urine test comes normal. Is there anyother test I should have done. Since blood test showed normal what are the chances of cancer.
As you have mentioned about diet could you please help me with a chart if you have and after looking at the websit I can can see I can only purchase those 2 books for HEADACHE IN THE PELVIS and Paradoxical Relaxation. Is there any vidos or DVD that I can buy which will help me,I changed my diet where i avoid alcohol, spicy food, caffine and try to eat more veg and fruits. Is there anything else you can suggest. You have mentioned you were taking green taking but I wondering green tea has a tiny amount of caffine in it do you think is it ok to drink. My symptoms are very on and off sitting feels sharp pain and on the left side of pubic bone I feel a bit pain. I would be gratefull if you can let me know some of the herbal product you have tried. Do you think hot weather will make any difference in the symptom. Also Do you think I should purchase those 2 books from standford university and do they have the technique explained. Also any link for trigger point therapy? I would appriciate your response.

  26. First of all, I was only diagnosed with chronic prostatitis. I wasn't diagnosed with CPPS. You will rarely get that diagnosis. It's just not a part of the urologists beliefs into it. 99% of the time it's gonna be prostatitis of some form or another.

I did get better but it has taken some time. The stress played a big part in me getting this condition. I do believe I had CPPS as well. I believe that whole-heartedely. I quit going to the urologists because all they wanted was to keep throwing meds in me.

You have to watch the procedures they wanna perform. It can lead to more bad than good! The only way to get a proper diagnosis of CPPS is to visit the Stanford clinic in California. I actually talked with one of the docs from that clinic. He authored a book called "A Headache In The Pelvis". You might wanna get that book. It's a great read & fit a lot of my problems besides the prostatitis diagnosis found here in my local area.

It's really a shame that there is only 1 clinic in the US that will even consider pelvic pain as the possible problem & actually train patients to use the system for treatment plans. I didn't go there but have learned a lot about it just from the Headache in the Pelvis book! Thanks!

  27. Thanks Tony. As I live in Uk I do think we have any center here . I have ordered the 2 books already. As you mentioned you were taking Green Tea , do you think it did help you.I was a bit concerned about tiny percentage of caffine. In my case doctor has confirmed me it was an inflamation do you think it can be classed as PROSTATITIS. Any chance you can let me now the some of the diet that has helped you. Also I am thinking to postpone my CISTSCOPY for the time being as I do believe that I have Prostatities. What are the symtoms for CPPS? Any idea? Is there any chance I can talk to any doctor over there in Clinic over the phone ? I would appriciate if you can let me know some of the things that has helped you .

  28. I talked to Dr. David Wise over the phone. He's the author of A Headache In The Pelvis. The diet I stick with eliminates any & all processed foods. Eat plenty of fish as your choice of meats. Eat all the raw veggies you want. Eat fruit too but limit some of the fattier ones like bananas.

Get plenty of daily exercise. 20 minutes a day should be fine. Eat salmon as the choice of fish because it has the good fatty acids. Try to buy all of your foods organic if possible. I not organic, get natural but stay away from all processed foods. Thanks!

  29. Thanks Tony. Could you please tell me how much of the green should be taken a day. You have mentioned about excercise any chance you can can tell me what sort of exercise will more effective at this stage. Also is this common problem that when I am stressed or did a bit physical work such as lifting I tend to get low urine flow for a while and a bit of lower abdominal pain. 30. Hi Tony as said I bought the book Headache in the Pelvic . You have mentioned about exercise and trigger point therapy. Did you do the exercise that are shown in the book and what about the trigger points that Dr David wise has mentioned. Did you have to go to physio therapist who is trained on this. I could not find anyone in UK . Also did you have any symptoms of rediation/burning in different part of the body esp when you felt urge of urination and pain in the pelivc region.
As I have mentioned I finding it difficult to find anyone who can help on trigger point relase. I would appreciate if you can assist me if you have any information.
Thanks Once again for your help

  31. Hi Tony!

The reason I found your channel was because of your video about prostatitis.

I belieave you had the non bacterial form of prostatitis, and are cured now? :)

When I was 21 I got prostatitis. My symptoms has really gone up and down for the last 7 months since I got it.
I would like to know more about what you have done to get rid of it! :) :

My symptoms now is a slight tickling feeling around the pelvic area, occationally a very slight pain
in the anus area and penis and sore testicles, frequent urination and the feeling of the prostate being enlarged.

What diet have you been following? (especially, what about diary products, and oats?)
What are your thought on exercise? (seems that if I run more than 15km it makes prostatitis worse)
(abdominal workout? Does it make it worse or not? For me it is diffucult to tell)
Thoughts on sexual activity? (It seems that if I ejaculate more than every other day, maybe every third
it makes prostatitis worse, how often do you think is ideal?)
Final question: How long did it take to get rid of symptoms, when you were at this stage? :)

Hope you can help, and thank you so much!

    Emil Maltha Rasmussen, Denmark :)
